The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency said it is alarmed with regard to the significant range of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the significant amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office committed to service the area regularly. The company place developed for intervention encounters a higher influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for your office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to permit the servicing of all consumers and boost entry to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
